Biomedical researchers are now expected to work within interdisciplinary teams as the norm. But alongside the advantages of interdisciplinary working environments come challenges, and researchers often feel ill-equipped to navigate these environments. Moreover, previous work conducted as part of the X-NET project highlighted a need for more training around team-based approaches for early career researchers as a key enabler of cross-sector mobility.
Aims
To work with ECRs and community groups to understand their needs
To deliver a programme of online talks and workshops that promote interdisciplinary skills gain
In response, we aimed to work with ECRs and community partners within biomedical data science to develop an online careers symposium for biomedical data scientists which focuses on developing interdisciplinary skills.
