INTEGRATE Careers Workshop: Developing the skills needed for navigating biomedical data science careers in a changing world

Data science has transformed biomedical research in recent years, but this interdisciplinary shift brings its own challenges, from navigating uncertain career paths to learning how to work effectively within large, diverse teams.
Join us on 13th-14th October for an interactive online programme designed to equip mid and early-career biomedical data scientists with the tools they need to thrive in interdisciplinary environments. Across two afternoon sessions, you'll hear from academic and industry leaders on how they navigated this evolving landscapes and undefined career paths to build successful careers both in and beyond academia, and develop the skills needed forge a career in interdisciplinary research under the guidance of professional trainers.
Who is this for?
We welcome anyone applying computational, mathematical or statistical skills to biomedical, medical or health research. This includes researchers, educators, data stewards, software engineers and research infrastructure specialists across fields such as ‘omics, biostatistics, biomedical imaging, computational biology, clinical trials, population health, medical devices and research software engineering.
We welcome participants from all UK institutions at all career stages, and particularly encourage applications from those in post-doctoral roles and from backgrounds underrepresented in academia.

This programme has been developed as part of the MRC-funded INTEGRATE project, and its development has been generously supported by a steering group of early career researchers across the UK, along with representatives from ELIXIR, HDR-UK, the CRUK Data Science Community, and AI BIO.
